Determining donor capabilities and recipient needs

The coverage effect of thinning areas depends on the density and thickness of the hair in the donor area. The goal is to maximum coverage of the recipient area while avoiding depletion of the donor area, especially in cases where a large number of grafts are required to achieve a good result (mega sessions).

At THE ANTIAGERS Regrow clinics, we follow the most advanced formula for calculating the Coverage Value, known as Coverage Value, developed by internationally renowned scientist Dr. Koray Erdogan, calculates the relationship between the donor's capabilities and the recipient's coverage needs. With the help of sophisticated tools, such as special trichoscopes and micrometers, we study the density and number of hairs per square centimeter, as well as the thickness and diameter of the hairs in the donor area. These measurements allow us to accurately determine:

  • the quality of the donor area
  • the potential of the donor area
  • the reduction of the donor's capabilities with each transplant session without exhausting her
  • the number of grafts required for minimum coverage of the recipient area
  • the percentage of coverage of the area where the grafts are implanted

Formula recognized by the World FUE Institute

The World FUE Institute (Global FUE Institute) has now adopted the Coverage Value calculation formula as a global standard for determining donor capabilities and recipient coverage.

The Coverage Rate is calculated by multiplying the number of hair follicles per square centimeter by the number of hairs per hair follicle and the average hair diameter. If the value is greater than 5.4, then it means that the hair transplant can be offers a very satisfactory thickening and coverage effect.
